A dog is a man’s best friend? What does that make a cat? Cats have been kept as pets for a shorter time than dogs. The creatures were mainly used as a cheap form of pest control in the past, but now the fluffy felis catus has become a phenomenon. Both online and offline. Cat videos on YouTube and TikTok are extremely popular, and in the Netherlands alone about 2.9 million cats are roaming streets and houses alike. Cats may have been compared to deities in ancient Egypt but even now, the world is still worshipping them.
